Dr. Alexios Papacharalampopoulos owns a Diploma (MSc) in Electrical and Computers Engineering and a PhD in Engineering of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, University of Patras. He is currently working as a Research Engineer for the Laboratory of Manufacturing Systems and Automation (LMS). He has been involved in many RTD projects funded by the EC, acting as Researcher, such as in ENEPLAN, FoFdation, RLW Navigator, X-act, MAShES and Borealis.
His main research interests are focused in the field of conventional/non-conventional manufacturing processes modelling and control. Among others, he has performed research in the areas of Tool-wear Modelling and Monitoring, Development of decision making support methods in manufacturing, Multi criteria Scheduling, Multi criteria Supply Chain Management, Life Cycle Assessment, Laser based processes monitoring and control, as well as Model based Assembly of flexible materials.
He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He is also a reviewer for scientific journals.
He has been the technical advisor for over nine (9) Student and Diploma Theses and has more than 22 publications.
