Dr. Alexios Papacharalampopoulos owns a Diploma (MSc) in Electrical and Computers Engineering and a PhD in Engineering of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, University of Patras. He has been a Research Associate for the Laboratory of Manufacturing Systems and Automation (LMS). He has been involved in many RTD projects funded by the EC, acting as Senior Researcher and Technical manager, such as in ENEPLAN, FoFdation, RLW Navigator, X-act, MAShES, Borealis, Communion, Hindcon, Stream-0D, and Avangard.
His main research interests are focused on the field of conventional/non-conventional manufacturing processes digital twinning, modelling and control. Among others, he has performed research in the areas of Tool-wear Modelling and Monitoring, Development of decision making support methods in manufacturing, Multi-criteria Scheduling, Multi-criteria Supply Chain Management, Life Cycle Assessment, Laser-based processes monitoring and control, as well as Model-based Assembly of flexible materials.
He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He is also a reviewer for scientific journals.
He has been the technical advisor for over 20 Student and Diploma Theses and has more than 65 publications.
